The Periwinkle Petal Opaline Tea Set 🪷

🪷 This eight piece set is made of a magnificent opalescent milk glass that has a glowing translucency. When you hold them to the sun, they glow with a soft, milky light, edged with a dainty gold rim.
 
🪷 Each cup and saucer is decorated with a vibrant spray of periwinkle violets and tiny pink daisies. It’s as if a jewelled meadow was painted onto the glass while the morning dew was still fresh.
 
🪷 This isn't standard milk glass; it is Opal Glass (often referred to by the brand name Arcopal or Durand in Europe).  This set is high-quality and heat-strengthened 
 
🪷This set was most likely produced in the early 1980s.
 
🪷 This era saw a massive "Romantic Revival" in Australia. After the bold, geometric patterns of the 60s, everyone wanted dainty violets, jewelled gold rims, and soft floral sprays to make their morning tea feel more like a garden party.
 
🪷 The vibrant periwinkle violets were applied using a high-quality decal process that was then fired in a kiln to ensure the flower stayed bright for decades of afternoon tea.
